Pipe Relining in Temecula

A new pipe inside the old one, when the location makes replacement painful.

Pipe relining builds a new pipe wall inside a damaged drain or sewer line. The line is cleaned, a resin-saturated liner is pulled or inverted into place, and it cures hard. Cracks, root entry points and loose joints get sealed in one continuous tube.

Relining is most useful when the damaged pipe runs under a slab, a driveway, a pool deck or a finished room, where opening things up is the expensive part.

Good candidates, poor candidates

  • Good: cracked or root-damaged lines with consistent slope, separated joints, and lines under slabs, driveways or decks.
  • Poor: lines with a belly that holds water, fully collapsed sections, or pipe that is badly undersized. Liners copy the shape of the pipe they go into, including its sags.
  • Supply lines: epoxy coating of pressurized water lines exists, but for most Temecula slab leaks we recommend a reroute instead. See slab leak repair.

Why Temecula homes are usually good candidates

Most homes here were built after 1980 with ABS or PVC drain lines, not the clay or cast iron you see in older cities. Plastic pipe tends to fail at joints and from root entry rather than crumbling, which is exactly what lining fixes well. The older commercial buildings in Old Town and some Meadowview homes are the exceptions where we see older pipe materials.

How the process works

We camera the line, jet it clean, measure it and wet out the liner with resin on site. The liner goes in through the cleanout and is inflated against the pipe wall to cure. Branch connections are reopened with a robotic cutter where needed. A final camera pass is recorded for your records and for permit inspection where required.

Problems relining fixes

Confirmed by camera before we recommend it.

01
What you notice

Roots at multiple joints

Each joint is a gap roots can enter.

What to do

A continuous liner seals them all.

02
What you notice

Cracked pipe under a slab or driveway

Access is the expensive part.

What to do

Line it through the cleanout.

03
What you notice

Separated joints from settling

Pipe sections pulled apart slightly.

What to do

Line if the slope is still acceptable.

04
What you notice

Recurring clogs with no belly

Rough or broken pipe catches debris.

What to do

Clean and line for a smooth bore.

Relining step by step

1

Camera and measure

Confirm the line is a candidate and measure length and diameter.

2

Hydro jet

Remove roots, grease and scale.

3

Install liner

Wet out, insert and inflate.

4

Cure and reinstate

Cure the resin and reopen any branch connections.

5

Verify

Final recorded camera inspection.

Where relining is most useful locally

Where we see it most

Old Town Temecula

Older commercial buildings with lines under finished floors.

Meadowview

Older homes with long laterals and mature trees.

Temeku Hills

Finished hardscape and golf course lots.

Harveston

Lines under driveways and courtyards in newer homes.

Local factors that matter

Plastic drain pipe

ABS and PVC fail at joints, which lining addresses.

Hardscape-heavy yards

Pavers, concrete and turf replacement make digging costly.

Permits

Lateral work is permitted through the City or County.

Cost factors

Quoted after camera inspection.

Length

Priced largely by the foot.

Diameter

Larger pipes use more liner and resin.

Number of branch connections

Each one needs reinstating.

Cleaning required

Heavy roots add jetting time.

How long does a pipe liner last?

Manufacturers rate CIPP liners for decades when installed in a properly cleaned pipe.

Can every pipe be relined?

No. Lines with significant sags or full collapses usually need excavation at that spot.

Will relining reduce flow?

Slightly, by the liner thickness. The smooth interior often offsets it.

Is relining the same as trenchless sewer repair?

It is one trenchless method. Pipe bursting is the other common one.

Damaged line under the slab or driveway?

Call (951) 744-8310. A camera inspection tells us if relining is the right fix.
